Microsoft CEO just killed 99% of SaaS companies

"Agents need more infrastructure than any workload previously, but at a completely different scale," Nadella explained.
“Tokens per dollar per watt” might be the new operating metric, he said.

"If all you thought was 'I'm the system of record' and it's just about workflows on top of my data—that's just not going to persist."
Translation: If your competitive moat is being a database with a nice UI, you're finished.

"Software used to help people do the work. Now it's evolving to help people manage what AI agents are doing."
The paradigm isn't evolving—it's inverting. Instead of humans using software to work, humans will manage software (agents) that do the work.
